The First National Bank of Wahoo, Nebraska was organized on the 15th day of July, 1882 with a capital stock of $50,000. We merged with our sister banks in Sterling and Burchard, Nebraska in 1992 and our combined assets total at that time was $51,000,000. In July 2010 we purchased First National Bank & Trust of Syracuse, Nebraska and have grown to $190,000,000 in total assets, with total capital exceeding $17,500,000 and 37 full and part-time dedicated employees.
First National Bank has been a member of the Federal Reserve System of the United States since 1914. As a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation since its inception in 1933, each depositor is insured to at least $250,000.
