The First National Bank of Wahoo, Nebraska was organized on the 15th day of
July, 1882 with a capital stock of $50,000. We merged with our sister banks in Sterling and Burchard Nebraska in 1992 and our combined assets total $51,000,000. We have since grown to $110,000,000 in assets, total capital exceeding $10,000,000 and 27 full and part-time dedicated employees. We remain not only the oldest bank in Saunders County but also the largest locally owned bank.

The First National Bank has been a member of the Federal Reserve System of the United States since 1914. As a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation since its inception in 1933, all deposits are guaranteed by this corporation to be at least $100,000.

First National Bank continues to be a very stable presence in Wahoo. We have been located on the same corner of 5th and Linden since 1882. The present bank building was erected in 1919. In 2001 First National Bank bought the adjoining building and expanded our technology center into this newly acquired space.
